Police arrested a couple and seized 103 Yaba pills during a targeted anti-drug raid in Paschim Arpara village on Sunday afternoon.
Acting on a tip-off a police team led by Sub-Inspector Md. Masud Hossain raided the couple's home at around 4:00 PM catching them in the act of selling the illicit drugs. The suspects were identified as Bakel Molla alias Bappi 35 and his wife Nurjahan Akhter Urmi 27.
Madhukhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sukdev Roy confirmed the arrests, noting that Bakel Molla is a habitual offender with approximately a dozen prior drug-related cases against him.
A new case has been filed against the couple under the Narcotics Control Act. Police forwarded them to the Faridpur court on Monday morning.
