Bangladesh Parliament Explores Modern Audio Upgrade Following Disruptions

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman attended a high-level meeting on Monday to discuss replacing the aging sound system at Bangladesh's National Parliament.

The session, chaired by Acting Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal, took place at the Cabinet Conference Room of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban. Demonstrating a unified approach to parliamentary infrastructure, the meeting gathered key figures from both sides of the aisle. Attendees included Opposition Leader Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher, Law Minister Md Asaduzzaman Government Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni, and Opposition Chief Whip Nahid Islam.

During the session the Public Works Department delivered a detailed presentation on modern, technology-driven sound systems used in legislatures worldwide. Officials outlined various technical options system capabilities and a clear implementation roadmap for the new audio infrastructure. This push for modernization follows a recent disruption in the parliament's audio system an incident that prompted the formation of a formal probe committee. To prevent future technical failures attendees closely reviewed the proposed systems' operational efficiency and their compatibility with daily parliamentary proceedings providing guidance to ensure the upgrades are implemented smoothly.
