The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations for 2026 begin tomorrow, April 21. The written exams will start at 10:00 am with Bangla First Paper and continue until May 20. Practical exams will be held later as per schedule.

A total of 130,668 students will take part in the exams under the Chittagong Education Board. Among them, 56,325 are male and 74,343 are female. Candidates from science, humanities, and business studies streams are participating.

In the science group, there are 15,434 male and 19,546 female students. Humanities has 13,731 male and 30,227 female candidates. In business studies, 27,160 male and 24,570 female students will sit for the exams.

District-wise data shows the highest number of candidates are from Chittagong district, including the metropolitan area, with 40,184 male and 52,112 female students. A significant number of candidates are also from Cox’s Bazar, Rangamati, Khagrachari, and Bandarban. Overall, students from 1,218 institutions will take exams at 218 centers.

The Education Board has taken strict measures to ensure a fair and cheating-free environment. All coaching centres will remain closed during the examination period to prevent question leaks and maintain discipline. A total of 76 monitoring teams have been formed, including 66 general and 10 special teams.

Candidates must arrive at exam centres at least 30 minutes before the start. Mobile phones are strictly prohibited, and only approved calculators may be used. Students must properly fill out OMR sheets, avoid folding answer scripts, and pass each section separately.

Examinees can only sit for subjects listed on their admit cards and must attend their assigned centres, not their own institutions. Only analog watches are allowed inside exam halls.

To strengthen security, Section 144 has been imposed within 200 yards of each exam centre in Chittagong city. The restriction will remain in force from one hour before the exam begins until one hour after it ends. Public gatherings, processions, loud noise, weapons, and unauthorized entry are prohibited during this time.

The Education Board confirmed that all preparations, including uninterrupted power supply, have been completed. Authorities have urged all concerned to follow regulations to ensure a safe and peaceful examination environment.
