Construction of a permanent embankment to prevent Jamuna River erosion. The upgrading of Tangail Municipality to a City Corporation. The conversion of Government Sa'dat College into a full-fledged university.
A four-tier security blanket has been thrown over the city. Superintendent of Police Mohammad Shamsul Alam Sarkar confirmed that district police and various intelligence units are on high alert.
