The Rover Scout Group of Bheramara Government College in Kushtia observed a two-day tree-planting campaign on Sunday and Monday. The initiative was part of the national tree-planting week declared by the Bangladesh Scouts Rover Region aligning with the Prime Minister's directives for environmental conservation.
Professor Md. Abdus Sattar, Principal of the college and President of its Rover Scout Group officially inaugurated the event by planting saplings on the campus.
Throughout the campaign, Rover Scouts planted various species of trees. According to the organizers the primary objective of the program is to maintain environmental balance, promote campus greening and raise ecological awareness among students.
The event brought together college faculty and regional scout leaders. Key attendees including Jahangir Hossain Jewel (Head of the Sports Department and Rover Scout Group Editor) Helal Uddin (Secretary of the Teachers Council), Sabbir Hossain (Joint Secretary of the Kushtia District Rover) and Member Secretary of the Regional ICT Task Force.
Several regional scout representatives also joined the green initiative including Mamunur Rashid former Senior Rover Mate of Kushtia Government College and Hazrat Ali from Kushtia Islamia College. Local Rover Scouts including Kawsar Uddin, Zakaria Islam Joy, and Abdus Salam, actively participated in the planting activities.
