


Bheramara Government College in Kushtia observed "July Uprising Day" on Wednesday with a series of commemorative programmes organized by the Teachers' Council.
The day's events, held at the college auditorium, featured student competitions in creative writing, poetry recitation and painting, followed by a formal discussion and special prayers to honor the sacrifices made during the historic movement.
Principal Professor Md. Abdus Sattar presided over the gathering, while Bheramara Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Amirul Arafat attended as the chief guest.
The programme commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Lecturer Delwar Hossain and was moderated by Lecturer Johnny Kaiser.
During the discussion, speakers reflected on the significance of the July uprising and its enduring impact on the nation. Among those who addressed the audience were Helal Uddin, General Secretary of the Teachers' Council and Head of the Sociology Department, along with Assistant Professors Abu Zafar Mohammad Mahasin, Rezaul Karim and Mostafizur Rahman Shamim.
Lecturers SM Golam Firoz, Amirul Islam and Anisur Rahman as well as Physical Education Teacher Jahangir Hossain Jewel, also spoke at the event. The programme concluded with the distribution of prizes to the winners of the creative competitions, inspiring students to carry forward the spirit of the uprising.
