Bangladesh Keeps Fuel Prices Unchanged for September 2026

The Bangladesh government has kept the retail prices of fuel oil unchanged for September 2026, meaning consumers will continue to pay the existing rates for diesel, kerosene, octane and petrol throughout the month.

The Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources announced the decision in a notification issued on Monday (August 31).

Under the latest decision, the retail prices from September 1 will remain:

  • Fuel Price per litre
  • Diesel Tk 115
  • Kerosene Tk 135
  • Octane Tk 145
  • Petrol Tk 140

The notification, signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Md Enamul Haque, said the prices were approved by the appropriate authority and would remain unchanged for September 2026.

The current prices were initially fixed through a notification issued by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division on May 31.

Under that decision, the consumer-level retail prices were set at Tk 115 per litre for diesel, Tk 135 for kerosene, Tk 145 for octane and Tk 140 for petrol.

The government has now decided to continue those rates for another month.

A notification issued on July 30 had already kept the existing retail prices unchanged for August.

As a result, motorists and other consumers paid Tk 115 per litre for diesel, Tk 135 for kerosene, Tk 145 for octane and Tk 140 for petrol throughout August.

With the latest announcement, the same prices will remain effective from Tuesday, September 1, for the entire month unless the government announces a fresh adjustment.
