


The District Narcotics Control Department has arrested a Union Parishad (UP) member, Chhaydar Rahman (57), for possession of Yaba tablets during an anti-drug operation in Sadullapur, Gaibandha.
Acting on a tip-off on Monday morning, officials raided the suspect's home in Tiagacha Bhawanipur village, Bhatgram Union. During the search, 40 pieces of Yaba tablets were recovered from his bedroom.
Chhaydar Rahman, the son of the late Azim Uddin, represents Ward No. 8 of Bhatgram Union. According to the Narcotics Control Department, Rahman had allegedly been trading drugs for an extended period while evading law enforcement.
Sub-Inspector Enamul Haque of the Gaibandha Narcotics Control Department confirmed the arrest, stating that a case has been filed at Sadullapur Police Station. Sadullapur Police OC AKM Habibul Islam confirmed that the accused was sent to jail via court order on Monday afternoon. Authorities emphasized that anti-drug operations will continue in the region.
