A day-long workshop on the Cluster Development Plan (CDP), Capital Investment Plan (CIP), and Climate Resilient Action Plan was held at the Nilphamari Municipality auditorium on Sunday. The event was organized under the Resilient Urban and Territorial Development Project (RUTDP) implemented by LGED with World Bank support.
The workshop aimed to promote economic growth, enhance rural-urban linkages, and ensure climate-resilient urban management by connecting municipalities in Bangladesh’s southeastern and northwestern regions.
In its first phase, the project will cover 81 municipalities and six city corporations across 36 districts, benefiting more than 200,000 people, half of them women. Planned developments include roads, drains, bridges, street lights, markets, bus terminals, public toilets, and community facilities.
The session was chaired by Md. Saidul Islam, Nilphamari Municipality Administrator and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue), while Sarthak Halder, LGED Senior Assistant Engineer, presented the keynote. Officials from LGED, municipal representatives, journalists, and members of the Town Level Coordination Committee (TLCC) also attended.
