Expatriate Murdered in Malaysia Buried in Munshiganj

Alam Sheikh's body, who was killed in Malaysia, was buried next to his father's grave. The body of Mohammad Alam Sheikh (50), who was killed by two friends in Malaysia, was brought home on Friday.

On Friday, after Isha, the body of Mohammad Alam Sheikh, the younger son of the deceased Mofizuddin of Nayabari village in Khidirpara union of Louuhjang upazila of Munshiganj, was buried next to his father's grave after the funeral prayer at the Purbaburdia Jame Mosque ground. After Alam's body reached his village home in Nayabari area in the afternoon, hundreds of villagers gathered at their house. Alam's body returned home after 13 days. Alam's wife Sathi Begum, two daughters and relatives are fainting repeatedly. The sky and air became heavy with their wailing.

It is worth noting that on the morning of January 31, two friends, Faruk and Pannu, who had come to visit Alam's house, murdered him and fled with everything he owned. Alam's family said that Alam was supposed to return home on February 10, ahead of the parliamentary elections, but the killers did not allow him to return home alive. Shah Alam, the elder brother of the deceased Alam, said that a murder case has been filed in Malaysia regarding Alam's murder, accusing Faruk and Pannu. He said that the police are investigating the matter. However, when Alam's family tried to file a complaint in this regard at his own police station, the police did not take the matter into consideration, the family said.

In this regard, Monir Hossain Mridha, Officer-in-Charge of Louhajang Police Station, said that since the murder did not happen in Bangladesh, there is no opportunity to file a complaint here. However, I am looking into the matter.
