The District Primary Education Department has issued show-cause notices to two teachers of Lohagara Government Model Primary School following allegations of student torture. The accused have been ordered to provide a written explanation within three working days.

The action follows an investigation into the physical assault of Krishna Haldar, a fifth-grade student. According to the investigation report, assistant teacher Rani Chakraborty allegedly struck the student with a blackboard duster on April 6, leaving multiple injuries. It was further revealed that on April 1, another assistant teacher, Deepak Kumar Das, had also beaten the same student.

The incident gained widespread attention after a video of the child’s injuries went viral on social media on April 7, sparking local outrage.

Narail District Primary Education Officer (DPEO) Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed confirmed the development on Wednesday afternoon. "We have booked the two teachers based on the probe committee's findings. If their replies are unsatisfactory, we will proceed with departmental action, which may include transfers or formal legal cases," he stated.

The inquiry was conducted by a three-member team led by Assistant Upazila Education Officer Golam Rabbani, which submitted its findings within the stipulated three-day deadline.
