The government is set to transform Bogra into a premier hub for education and smart farming. The initiative, announced this week, aims to modernize agricultural support and expand digital services through significant infrastructure investment.
Speaking at a "Farmer Smart Card" distribution event in Shibganj, Education Minister Dr. A.N.M. Ehsanul Haque Milon emphasized that the move will bring transparency to the sector. These digital cards allow farmers to access subsidies, loans, seeds, and fertilizers directly, effectively removing middle-men from the supply chain.
State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, Mir Shahe Alam, confirmed that over 3,100 farmers in Shibganj have already received these cards. He also highlighted long-term regional goals, including the establishment of an international-standard airport and a full-fledged university.
To ensure benefits reach the right hands, the government is building a national digital database. State Minister for Public Administration and Food, Abdul Bari, noted that this database will identify genuine farmers to streamline the delivery of state aid.
Furthering the industrial push, Mir Shahe Alam visited Mahasthan and Mokamtola on Wednesday to inspect sites for upcoming agro-processing hubs. These projects will be supported by expanded rural roads and improved irrigation systems to bolster the local economy.
