


A total of 17,988 voters, including prisoners of Faridpur District Jail, will vote in the upcoming 13th National Parliament Election.
Out of these, 52 prisoners and 13 officers and employees of the prison will vote through postal ballot. This is the first time that prisoners and officers from the prison are getting the opportunity to exercise their voting rights through postal ballot. The prison authorities have said that all necessary preparations have been completed for this purpose.
Among the 52 prisoners who are exercising their voting rights, there are two female prisoners.
According to the district prison sources, there are currently a total of 1,244 prisoners in Faridpur District Jail. Out of these, 51 are female prisoners.
Out of the total prisoners, 52 have expressed interest in voting through postal ballot. Among them, 10 are prisoners and 42 are sentenced prisoners. Two interested female prisoners are also sentenced prisoners.
Jail Superintendent Md. Nazrul Islam said that after the announcement of the Election Commission, prisoners and prisoners were encouraged to vote. In continuation of this, the necessary activities have been completed by collecting applications from interested prisoners. Preparations are also underway to set up two booths for prisoners and one for officials and employees inside the prison to vote.
Faridpur Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Md. Kamrul Hasan Molla said that a total of 17,988 voters in the district will exercise their right to vote through postal ballots. We have already completed all these special preparations. We hope that voters will participate in postal voting for the first time through a fair process as per the instructions of the Election Commission.
