


National Parliament Deputy Speaker Barrister Kaiser Kamal MP asserted that people’s representation and democratic practices have significantly expanded in the current parliament was formed following the 2024 student uprising.
Speaking to journalists during a visit to Sautikanda village in Faridpur’s Bhanga upazila on Friday afternoon the Deputy Speaker noted that the public's expectations for this parliament are higher than ever before.
"The National Parliament is a symbol of the hopes and aspirations of the people of Bangladesh," he said. Acknowledging the public's past skepticism and criticism regarding previous parliaments, he emphasized that the current assembly has created broader avenues for public participation and the free expression of opinions.
Kamal highlighted the parliament's crucial role in shaping the nation's future trajectory. "The National Parliament is now one of the most important arenas for practicing genuine politics. Efforts are underway to make the Parliament more effective and people-oriented by rising above partisan interests and ensuring active participation from both the government and the opposition" he stated.
He further affirmed the government's commitment to protecting the dignity of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the 2024 mass uprising.
The exchange of views was attended by several prominent local figures and administrative officials including Faridpur-4 MP Shahidul Islam Khan Babul, Deputy Commissioner Mazharul Islam, Bhanga Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mahamudul Hasan, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Sadrul Alam Siam and Bhanga Upazila BNP President Khandaker Iqbal Hossain Selim.
