CMP's security instructions for the Thirty-First Night celebration

The Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has announced special precautions and security measures in view of the Thirty-First Night and Christian New Year 2026 celebrations in Chattogram metropolis. Several restrictions have been imposed to maintain peace and order in the metropolis and keep public life normal.

The notification said that on the occasion of the Thirty-First Night celebration, no programs, meetings, mass gatherings, dance-songs, DJ parties or rallies will be held without permission in any open place, street or building rooftop in the metropolis. Apart from this, permission must be obtained for the use of cultural programs or musical instruments.

For security reasons, all types of fireworks, bursting of crackers and lighting of lanterns are completely prohibited in the metropolis. In addition, all bars and liquor shops in the metropolis will be closed from 6 pm on Wednesday (December 31) to 6 pm on January 1.

The CMP also said that during this period, licensed firearms, including swords, guns, daggers, sticks and explosives, will not be allowed in residential hotels, restaurants and public gatherings. For security reasons, it is also prohibited to stay at Patenga Sea Beach and Parki Beach at the same time.

In addition, citizens have been instructed to be aware and refrain from reckless driving of cars or motorbikes, honking loudly, moving while intoxicated, harassing women or any other immoral activities. Strict action will be taken against any kind of lawbreaker.

Overall, the Chattogram Metropolitan Police wants the city residents to enjoy the Thirty First Night and New Year celebrations peacefully, so that security is also ensured along with joy.
