A two-month graphics design training programme has begun in Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila as part of an initiative to improve young people's skills and help them pursue self-employment and entrepreneurship.
The programme, organised by the Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila administration, was inaugurated by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Kathowai Pru Marma on Monday at the Learning and Earning office in Lakshmipur Sadar.
Upazila ICT Officer Shubhragit Roy and Mohammad Riaz Hossain, a digital marketing trainer at e-Learning and Earning Ltd, were present at the inaugural event.
A total of 30 young men and women from Lakshmipur Sadar are participating in the training.
Participants will receive hands-on instruction in various aspects of graphics design. The training is expected to help them develop skills that can be used to earn through freelancing, digital marketing and other online-based professional opportunities.
Speakers at the inaugural event said technology-driven employment opportunities are expanding, and young people should focus on developing practical skills rather than relying solely on traditional jobs.
They said skilled young people can become self-reliant through entrepreneurship while also creating employment opportunities for others.
The initiative by the upazila administration aims to develop a technology-skilled workforce among young people and encourage new entrepreneurs through self-employment.
