


Police have arrested eight people, including one wanted under a sentence warrant, during a special and anti-drug operation in Daganbhuiyan of Feni.
The operation was conducted by Daganbhuiyan police on Monday (September 14). Two of those arrested for drug consumption were subsequently sentenced to one month in jail and fined Tk 100 each by a mobile court.
Police said Rakibul Kabir, 22, son of Jahangir Kabir of Aziz Fazilpur village, and Nurul Haque, son of Fazal Haque of Madhyam Ramnagar village, were arrested while consuming drugs. They were produced before a mobile court, which sentenced each of them to one month in prison and imposed a fine of Tk 100.
Five others—Mohammad Ala Uddin Rimon, 26, Kamrul Hossain, 21, Abdullah alias Rashed, 22, Mohammad Saiful Islam, 18, and Zahir Alam, 32—were arrested during the anti-drug operation.
Police also arrested Mohammad Osman, 40, who was wanted under a sentence warrant.
According to police, legal proceedings have been initiated against the arrested individuals, and they have been sent to the appropriate court.
The operation was conducted under the direction of Feni Superintendent of Police Pratyush Kumar Majumdar, Assistant Superintendent of Police of Sonagazi Circle and Daganbhuiyan Police Station Officer-in-Charge Faizul Azim Noman.
Daganbhuiyan police administration said such operations will continue as part of efforts to maintain law and order and curb crime in the area.
