


A mobile court has fined three medicine shops a total of Tk 15,000 during an inspection of drugstores in the areas around Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital and Hospital Road.
The three establishments were each fined Tk 5,000, bringing the total penalty to Tk 15,000. The fines were imposed under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 2023.
The operation was conducted to monitor whether medicine shops were properly complying with relevant laws, regulations and requirements.
Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Kathowai Pru Marma conducted the mobile court operation. Members of the Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA), Lakshmipur, and Sadar Model Police Station assisted in the drive.
Mohammad Ajiullah, Assistant Director (additional charge) of the DGDA's Lakshmipur office, and members of Sadar Model Police Station were present during the operation.
The authorities concerned said such drives will continue to prevent unlawful activities and irregularities at medicine shops as part of efforts to protect public health.
