Madhukhali Upazila is taking initiatives to renovate and improve several important locations as part of efforts to turn the area into a modern, clean and visually appealing upazila.
Madhukhali Municipal Administrator and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Masudur Rahman inspected several key sites in the upazila and municipality on Monday (September 14).
The inspection began at around noon. During the visit, the UNO discussed various development initiatives with local political leaders and engineers from different government departments aimed at giving Madhukhali a more attractive and organised appearance.
Speaking to journalists, Masudur Rahman said, “I may not remain in Madhukhali in this position forever. But I want to leave behind something visually appealing for the people of Madhukhali so that they remember me for a long time.”
He said several initiatives are being considered initially. These include constructing a signboard and gateway along a highway road in Madhukhali, installing a water fountain within the municipality, and creating an attractive seating area in front of the hospital where people can sit and rest.
Plans also include constructing a roundabout and renovating the pond beside the market mosque, along with developing a paved ghat (steps) around the pond.
Executive Engineer of the Roads and Highways Department in Faridpur Khalid Saifullah Sardar, Madhukhali Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Pratik Dutta and municipal Assistant Engineer Golam Azam were present during the inspection.
Local political leaders and officials from relevant government offices also attended, including Madhukhali Upazila BNP President Shahabuddin Ahmed Satej, General Secretary Abdul Alim Manik, Vice-President Akhtar Hossain Munshi, Upazila Jubo Dal Convener SM Mukhtar Hossain, Joint Convener Habibur Rahman Suman, Swechhasebak Dal Member Secretary Zahurul Islam Liton, Chhatra Dal Member Secretary Saddam Arefin and Municipal Chhatra Dal Joint Convener Golam Sharafat Sharat.
