The Bangladesh government has a specific plan for the energy sector, Prime Minister’s Adviser and spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office Mahdi Amin said on Monday.
He made the remarks while speaking to journalists after meeting the Prime Minister at the Secretariat on September 14.
A meeting between the Prime Minister and business leaders was also held. Referring to the meeting, Mahdi Amin said 21 business leaders attended, with discussions focusing on electricity, gas and mineral resources.
“The government has a specific plan regarding energy,” Mahdi Amin said.
He said an integrated initiative has been taken in the power sector, with particular emphasis being placed on solar energy.
“The government is also planning land-based terminals in addition to FSRUs,” he said.
Mahdi Amin said the accumulated problems created during the “fascist period” could not be resolved in a single day.
“Every problem will open the door to new possibilities,” he said.
