World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz will miss this year’s Wimbledon due to an ongoing wrist injury, the Spanish tennis star announced on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old’s withdrawal from the grass-court season follows his recent absence from the French Open. Wimbledon, the year’s third Grand Slam tournament, is scheduled to take place from June 29 to July 12.
"My recovery is going well and I’m feeling much better, but unfortunately, I’m still not ready to compete. This is why I have to withdraw from the grass-court swing at Queen’s and Wimbledon," Alcaraz stated. "They are two truly special tournaments for me, and I will miss them a lot. We’ll keep working to come back as soon as possible."
Alcaraz is a 26-time ATP champion and the youngest male tennis player in history to win all four Grand Slams. The Spaniard currently holds seven major titles, including two Wimbledon championships (2023, 2024), two US Opens (2022, 2025), two French Opens (2024, 2025), and the 2026 Australian Open. He also secured a silver medal in men’s singles at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
