Jamaat-e-Islami held a massive procession in Noakhali’s Sonaimuri on Sunday afternoon demanding the full implementation of the recent referendum verdict and the 'July Charter' alongside justice for those killed during the July mass uprising.

The procession commenced at 5:00 pm from the Sonaimuri Hamidiya Kamil Madrasa ground and paraded through the municipality's main roads and concluded with a rally at the bypass square.

Addressing the gathering, Sonaimuri Upazila Jamaat Ameer Hanif Mollah noted that Noakhali suffered heavily during the July protests with six people martyred in Sonaimuri alone. He strongly urged the administration to execute the referendum mandate in its entirety, warning that a failure to do so could prematurely end the government's tenure.

Mujahidul Islam, President of Noakhali District North Chhatra Shibir, recalled the ousted Awami League government's ban on Jamaat and Shibir in August 2024 just days before Sheikh Hasina was forced to flee the country. He criticized the current interim government, alleging it lacked direct involvement in the 2024 July uprising which has made it hesitant to act decisively or implement the referendum's verdict. He also explicitly demanded justice for the murder of Osman Hadi.

The event was moderated by former Sonaimuri Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Shahab Uddin. Other notable speakers included Upazila Nayeb-e-Ameer Rahim Ullah former Noakhali District Jamaat Secretary Maulana Hifzur Rahman and Municipal Ameer Abdul Matin. The leaders collectively urged swift legal action against all those responsible for the July genocide.
