The International Crimes Tribunal-1 (ICT-1) has postponed witness testimony in the crimes against humanity case against Sajeeb Wazed Joy, son of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and former State Minister for Information and Communication Technology, Junaid Ahmed Palak.
On Thursday (June 4), the court rescheduled the hearing for June 15. The delay occurred because the prosecution's seventh witness, scheduled to testify regarding the July uprising, failed to appear. Consequently, the prosecution requested an extension, which the tribunal granted.
Police brought Palak to the tribunal from prison this morning, but he was returned following the brief proceedings. His co-accused, Joy, remains a fugitive.
The tribunal officially framed charges against both men on January 21, 2026, advancing the formal charges submitted by the prosecution on December 4, 2025.
