Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus met with and addressed the student winners of the National Policy Competition 2025, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, urging them to view policymaking as a continuous, flexible, and essential process.
Professor Yunus emphasized that the success or failure of any venture—whether national or personal is largely determined by the quality of its policy framework. He warned that even well-funded projects could fail due to flawed policies.
He stressed that policy is not static; it must constantly evolve and adapt to changing circumstances to remain relevant and effective. He encouraged students to apply this flexible mindset to their personal goals as well.
The Chief Adviser exchanged greetings with the winners from nine universities and one medical college at the Cabinet Room in the State Guest House Jamuna, telling them they were sitting where the highest-level policy decisions are made.
Professor Yunus congratulated the winners, recognizing their "intellectual excellence," and encouraged them to continue practicing, debating, and analyzing policies.
He concluded by framing policymaking as a civic responsibility, urging the future leaders to "stay alert and raise your voice when policies go wrong."
Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain and the Chief Adviser's Special Envoy Lutfey Siddiqi were present.
The winners represented institutions like Dhaka University, North South University, and Chittagong University.
