


The verdict in two separate cases filed against ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana, her children Tulip Rizwana Siddique, Ajmina Siddique and son Radwan Mujib Bobby on charges of corruption in allocating government plots in the capital's Purbachal new city project will be announced. The verdict will be announced at the Special Judge-4 Court in Dhaka on Monday (February 2). According to sources in the court, the verdict in the case is likely to be announced on Monday morning.
In the two cases filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), it has been alleged that former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina misused her power and allocated two government plots of 10 kathas each to her sister Sheikh Rehana's son Radwan Mujib Siddique and daughter Ajmina Siddique separately.
Charges have also been brought against another daughter of Sheikh Rehana and British MP Tulip Rizwana Siddique in both cases. The judicial proceedings of these cases were completed in the Special Judge-4 Court of Dhaka. Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Public Prosecutor Zahirul Islam said that on January 13 last year, ACC Assistant Director Afnan Jannat Keya filed two separate cases against Azmina Siddique and Radwan Mujib Siddique on charges of abusing power and irregularities in obtaining government plots of 10 kathas each in the Purbachal New City Project. A total of 16 people, including Sheikh Hasina and Tulip Siddique, were accused in these cases.
Later, after the investigation, a charge sheet was filed in the court against a total of 18 people, including two more.
The other accused in the case are Saiful Islam Sarkar, administrative officer of the Ministry of National Housing and Public Works, Senior Assistant Secretary Purabi Golder, Additional Secretary Aliullah, Secretary Kazi Washi Uddin, personal assistant to the former chairman of RAJUK Anisur Rahman Miah, Tanmoy Das, Mohammad Nasir Uddin, Major (Eng.) Shamsuddin Ahmed Chowdhury (retd.), former director of RAJUK Nurul Islam, assistant director Mazharul Islam, director Kamrul Islam and deputy director Nayeb Ali Sharif.
The two accused who were later added to the case are former private secretary-1 to the prime minister Mohammad Salah Uddin and former state minister for housing and public works Sharif Ahmed.
