The article highlights that your morning routine significantly impacts your body's hormonal system, affecting metabolism, mood, energy levels, and long-term health.

According to Dr. Piyush Vishwakarma, a consultant gastroenterologist, sedentary activities like waking up late or scrolling through your phone in bed can confuse the system and lead to energy dips later on.

Hormones such as cortisol, insulin, testosterone, estrogen, and melatonin are highly sensitive to morning environmental cues, including daylight exposure, movement, nutrition, and the sequence of activities. A rushed, unstructured morning throws these hormones out of sync, often triggering an adrenaline-fueled start that lacks a proper 'warm-up.'

Sedentary Starts: Activities like snoozing alarms or phone scrolling confuse the hormonal rhythm.

Sensitivity: Hormones react strongly to minor disruptions in sleep, light exposure, and nutritional intake, causing circadian and endocrine disturbances.

Gut Health Connection: The gut plays a pivotal role in hormonal harmony. Poor gut health can increase inflammation and elevate cortisol (the stress hormone), making a healthy breakfast crucial.

The doctor emphasizes that a structured morning routine, which incorporates natural cues, is essential for maintaining this delicate balance and promoting overall well-being.
