The government will soon recruit 100,000 new health workers and additional doctors to improve nationwide healthcare access and bring medical services closer to the public according to Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain.

The minister announced the recruitment drive on Saturday July 25, while speaking to journalists following an unannounced inspection of the Sharankhola Upazila Health Complex in Bagerhat.

Minister Hossain explained that he is conducting surprise visits to hospitals across Bangladesh to directly evaluate grassroots healthcare services. These grassroots inspections aim to identify operational challenges ensure accountability and find practical ways to elevate patient care.

Highlighting recent infrastructure developments he noted that all upazila health complexes nationwide have already been upgraded to 100-bed facilities.
