


A high-level coordination meeting of the hospital management committee was held at Tangail Medical College Hospital on Friday morning to ensure better, patient-friendly healthcare.
The meeting, held in the hospital’s conference room, was chaired by Sultan Salahuddin Tuku MP, State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock and Chairman of the Hospital Management Committee.
The discussions focused heavily on upgrading medical services, addressing critical shortages of doctors and staff, and ensuring a steady supply of necessary medicines. Committee members also reviewed plans to improve diagnostic test quality, upgrade ward environments, eliminate middle-men (brokers), and modernize ambulance services.
State Minister Sultan Salauddin Tuku emphasized his commitment to healthcare, stating, "I am working with utmost priority to ensure the people of Tangail receive quality medical care. While we are pushing to resolve the manpower crisis quickly, we must deliver the best possible service with our existing staff."
He reminded the attendees that medicine is a humanitarian profession rooted in public trust. He urged doctors and hospital staff to work with dedication, sincerity, and responsibility, regardless of limited resources. Furthermore, the State Minister called upon government officials and employees to rise above party affiliations and prioritize the interests of the state and the public through coordinated teamwork.
Key attendees included Healthcare Department Joint Secretary Md. Mustafizur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque, Civil Surgeon Dr. Farazi Muhammad Mahbubul Alam Manju, and Hospital Director Dr. Md. Abdul Quddus, among other administrative and medical officials.
