National Citizens Party (NCP) Central Election Steering Committee Chairman Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan said that the elections are being held in a fair environment except for isolated incidents in some places.

He told reporters after voting at the Government Laboratory School center in the capital at 9:30 am on Thursday.

Asif Mahmud said, "My expectation is that people will be able to exercise their votes fairly throughout the day today except for isolated incidents in some places. I voted as a voter from Dhaka, since this time there are two ballots and although the number of voters here is a little less in the morning, the elections are being held in a very fair environment. We will call on everyone to try to ensure that the people exercise their voting rights fairly."

Criticizing the BNP, he said that even though Tarique Rahman asked them to vote 'yes', many of their leaders and activists are campaigning for a 'no' vote. This is their political hypocrisy. However, I hope that the 'yes' vote is not likely to be defeated, it will win by a large margin.

Asif Mahmud also said that unpleasant incidents in some places have increased frustration towards the law enforcement agencies. Candidates have been attacked in various places. Citizens should not be deprived of their right to vote. So far, the voting environment is fine, I hope it will remain fine throughout the day.
