Independent candidate withdraws from election in support of BNP candidate in Lakshmipur

Independent candidate for Lakshmipur-4 (Ramgati and Kamalnagar) constituency Sharaf Uddin Azad Sohel (Kap Pirich) has withdrawn from the election in the 13th National Parliament election. He withdrew from the election in support of the paddy sheaf candidate in the same constituency, Central BNP's Joint Industry and Commerce Affairs Secretary ABM Ashraf Uddin Nijan.

He made this announcement at an emergency press conference on Sunday (February 1) night at the Bashir Villa Hall on Godown Road in Lakshmipur district town. Sohel was the founding president of the Greater Ramgati Upazila BNP.

At that time, BNP leaders Nijan and Sohel were handed over the paddy sheaf symbol by Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, BNP joint secretary general and paddy sheaf candidate for Lakshmipur-3 (Sadar) constituency.

District BNP joint convener Advocate Hasibur Rahman, Sadar Upazila (East) BNP president Main Uddin Chowdhury Riaz, Laxmipur Municipality BNP president Rezaul Karim Liton, Ramgati Upazila BNP president Jamal Uddin, Ramgati Municipality BNP president Shahed Ali Patu, Chandraganj Thana BNP general secretary M Yusuf Bhuiyan, District Ulama Dal president Shah Mohammad Emran, prominent businessman Azizul Karim Bachchu and others were present at the press conference.
