More than 3,000 Ansar and VDP members have been deployed across 237 polling stations.

A total of 3,081 members of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Party (VDP) have been mobilized in Jhalakathi to secure the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections and national referendum.

The forces will be stationed across 237 polling stations in four upazilas (sub-districts) to ensure a smooth and safe voting process on February 12. The announcement followed a preparatory rally held Saturday at the Jhalakathi District Commandant’s office.

High-Tech Security and Strategic Readiness Addressing the rally, Barisal Range Commander Abdus Samad emphasized that the force has undergone rigorous training over the last 18 months to meet the demands of a modern electoral environment.

"The force is ready to perform its duties through modern training systems, technology-based management, and integrated security strategies," Samad said. He highlighted that younger members have been prioritized for active duty, while a dedicated reserve of personnel remains on standby for emergencies.

A Mandate for Neutrality District officials underscored that professionalism and political neutrality are non-negotiable. Members were instructed to follow the chain of command strictly and resist any external pressure or temptation during their assignment.

The deployment is part of a massive nationwide effort, with more than 560,000 Ansar-VDP members serving across Bangladesh to facilitate what officials hope will be a transparent and peaceful election cycle.
