


Police arrested two youths carrying a country-made shotgun and five live cartridges during a check post operation in Chittagong’s Bayezid Bostami area on Friday night (June 26).
The suspects were detained at approximately 9:00 PM at a checkpoint set up near the Syed Company building in the Aturar Depot area. According to police, officers on duty noticed the youths acting suspiciously. When the suspects attempted to flee, officers detained and searched them, recovering the firearm and ammunition.
The arrested individuals were identified as Md. Touhidul Islam Samir, 22, from Purba Shahidnagar, and Md. Alamgir Hossain Sajeeb, 20, originally from Muradnagar, Comilla, and currently residing in Mirpara.
A case has been filed against the suspects under the Arms Act at the Bayezid Bostami Police Station. Both individuals were sent to court on Saturday (June 27).
