


Monohardi Municipality in Narsingdi presented its proposed budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year during a citizen consultation meeting on Thursday, June 25. The event took place at the municipal office hall room.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Municipal Administrator M. A. Muhaimin Al-Jihan chaired the session, which was moderated by Municipal Accountant Mohammad Nasimur Rahman Apu. Government officials, local leaders, and residents attended to discuss the region's financial roadmap.
Officials detailed the upcoming fiscal year's budget allocations. In response, residents and local dignitaries provided written suggestions and feedback on ongoing development projects, strategies to improve citizen services, and future plans to develop Monohardi into a modern municipality.
In his address, UNO M. A. Muhaimin Al-Jihan emphasized the importance of public involvement. “There is no alternative to transparency, accountability, and public participation in building a dynamic and modern municipality,” he stated. “Public participation will be ensured in all development activities.”
He urged officials and residents to cooperate in improving municipal services, establishing a one-stop service system, and boosting municipal revenue.
Key attendees included Municipal Administrative Officer Ismail Mia, Monohardi Police OC Jahangir Badsha, Assistant Medical Officer Dr. Asaduzzaman Talukder, Upazila Engineer Harshit Kumar Saha, Primary Education Officer Hasan Mohammad Jonaed, and Monohardi Press Club President Harun Rashid, alongside journalists and municipal staff.
