To increase public involvement in the fight against dengue, a rally and discussion meeting were held in Monohardi on Saturday morning (June 6).
Organized jointly by the Monohardi Municipality and the Upazila Health Complex, the event was held under the slogan, "Country first, we will end dengue with everyone's efforts."
People from various professions joined the rally, which marched through the municipality's main roads. Participants distributed leaflets urging residents to keep their environment clean, remove stagnant water, and destroy mosquito breeding grounds.
Following the rally, a discussion was held at the Monohardi Health Complex Auditorium. Organizers stressed that government initiatives alone are not enough to combat dengue and called for active, community-wide participation to stop the disease's spread.
Dr. Md. Rashedul Hasan Mahmud, Monohardi Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer, presided over the meeting. Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Sajib Mia attended as the chief guest, with Monohardi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Jahangir Badsha serving as the special guest.
Monohardi Press Club President Md. Harun Rashid, local officials, political leaders, and community dignitaries were also in attendance. The event concluded with a direct appeal to all citizens to proactively maintain clean homes and neighborhoods.
