


Police have arrested a man and recovered money stolen from the donation box at the Sri Sri Thakur Anukul Chandra Satsang Ashram in Pabna.
The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Mridul Hossain of Hemayetpur Buderhat village, was apprehended early Friday (June 26) at the Pabna central bus terminal following overnight police raids.
According to Hemayetpur Police Outpost Sub-Inspector (SI) Rajib Hasan, the ashram’s donation box was broken into early Thursday (June 25). Following a formal complaint filed by the ashram's acting treasurer, Dhishankar Sarkar, police identified Mridul using CCTV footage and local intelligence.
During the arrest, police recovered a portion of the stolen funds. Authorities are currently interrogating Mridul to determine if anyone else was involved in the theft.
