Gazipur Factory Fire Breaks Out After Boiler Explosion

A fire broke out at the Auto Green Oil Company factory in the Pubail area of Gazipur around 2:10 pm on Saturday following a boiler explosion. The facility, located in the College Gate (Maizgaon) area, processes old tires to produce oil.

Three units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence were quickly dispatched to control the blaze, according to Tongi Duty Officer Sabuj Mia. Pubail Police Station Officer-in-Charge Atiqur Rahman confirmed that a police team has secured the area to maintain public order.

No casualties have been reported so far.

Locals noted a tragic history at the site: on January 23, 2016, a boiler explosion at the exact same facility—then operating under the name Smart Metal and Chemical Industries—killed six people. The factory's name was changed following that incident.
