A discussion meeting was held in Muriarhat village of Kurigram’s Nageshwari upazila on Friday afternoon to tackle child marriage and raise climate risk awareness among adolescents and guardians.

The Bamandanga Union Youth Development Organization organized the event under the "Child, Not Bride" project, in collaboration with MJSKS and Plan International Bangladesh.

Local men, women, and adolescents participated in the session. Speakers highlighted the severe impacts of child marriage and noted that women and children bear the brunt of climate change disasters. They emphasized that grassroots meetings are vital for building community resilience and awareness.

The meeting was chaired by the organization’s president, Akheruzzaman, with contributions from Vice President Sayeed Hasan and other members.
