A seminar was held in Paikgachha, Khulna, to address pressing local water management and waterlogging issues.

Organized by the Upazila Water Committee, the event took place on Thursday morning at the Upazila Muktijoddha Complex. Upazila Water Committee President Professor Sheikh Ruhul Kuddus chaired the seminar, while Upazila Project Implementation Officer Rajib Biswas attended as the chief guest. The discussion was moderated by the committee's General Secretary, Sheikh Sadequzzaman.

Local leaders, educators, journalists, and development workers addressed the gathering. Notable speakers included Upazila Freedom Fighter Commander Gazi Ruhul Amin, Professor Shudhangshu Sarkar, Journalist SM Alauddin Sohag, and Uttaran Project Manager Abdur Chattar, among others.

Speakers urged authorities to implement the Tidal River Management (TRM) system in the Shibsa and Haria rivers. They emphasized that excavating local canals for proper water drainage is critical to permanently resolving the upazila's severe waterlogging crisis.
