Shops, malls, and shopping complexes across Bangladesh will now remain open until 9:00 PM everyday starting Thursday (June 11), extending the previous closing time by two hours.

The Bangladesh Shop Owners Association announced the new schedule during a press conference on Thursday.

Association President Md. Helal Uddin stated that the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources communicated the updated directive, allowing business establishments to operate from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily.

Helal Uddin expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Energy Minister for the decision, which is expected to ease public pressure and support retail businesses.

Previously, the Power Division allowed markets to stay open until 10:00 PM to accommodate shoppers ahead of Eid-ul-Azha. However, following the festival, closing hours had strictly reverted to the standard 7:00 PM schedule until this latest revision.
