Lawmaker Biswas Jahangir Alam conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Kalia Upazila Health Complex on Wednesday morning, vowing to address manpower shortages and upgrade medical infrastructure.
The Narail-1 MP toured the hospital’s outpatient, emergency, and inpatient wards following a scheduled hospital management committee meeting. During the visit, he interacted with on-duty doctors and nurses and spoke directly with admitted patients to assess the actual quality of care, medicine availability and equipment conditions.
"The government is strictly committed to delivering quality healthcare directly to the doorsteps of rural communities," MP Jahangir Alam said. "While our medical staff must remain deeply sincere to earn public trust, I recognize the structural challenges here. We will systematically address the shortages in manpower, equipment and infrastructure with the central authorities."
Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Mohammad Shoaib briefed the lawmaker on the hospital's day-to-day operations and urgent logistical constraints.
Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md. Jinnatul Islam, Kalia BNP General Secretary S. M. Wahiduzzaman Milu, Upazila Family Planning Officer F. M. Abu Taher and Resident Medical Officer (RMO) Dr. Partha Pratim Biswas were present during the inspection.
