Police have recovered a woman's skeleton hidden inside a sack beneath a bathroom floor in Madhukhali municipality, Faridpur sparking widespread shock in the local community.

The grisly discovery was made on Sunday at the home of 80-year-old Md. Ali Akbar Mandal in Sreepur Karmakarpara (Ward 6).

According to the family Mandal’s wife the 55-year-old Moshna Raushna Begum noticed an unusual shift in the concrete slab of their makeshift bathroom early Sunday morning. Initially dismissed by her husband Mandal later inspected the slab himself and discovered a suspicious sack buried underneath.

The family contacted the National Emergency Service 999 at around 1:00 pm. A team led by Sub-Inspector Md. Mafizur Rahman of the Madhukhali Police Station arrived promptly to investigate. Upon opening the buried sack, police found human remains including a medium-sized skull with long black hair and disconnected bones.

Md. Maruf Hasan, Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) at Madhukhali Police Station confirmed the recovery and stated that the remains have been sent to the Faridpur Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy and forensic testing.

"An investigation is actively underway to determine the victim's identity and the actual cause of death. Further legal actions will be taken based on the forensic reports" OC Hasan stated.

Investigators noted that no missing person reports matching a female profile have been filed recently at the Madhukhali Police Station adding a layer of mystery to the ongoing investigation.
