


Traffic police arrested a motorcyclist with approximately two kilograms of marijuana during a routine check on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway in Madhukhali, Faridpur, on Thursday morning.
Two other riders on the motorcycle managed to flee the scene. The arrestee was identified as Rana Khan, 26, son of Lalon Khan from Bhati Kanaipur village in Faridpur Sadar upazila.
According to Faridpur District Traffic Police Sergeants Prashant Kumar Maulik and Kallol Kumar Bhattacharya, officers were conducting regular vehicle checks near the Madhukhali Railgate area around 11:30 am. When they stopped a motorcycle carrying three people to check its documents, two of the riders ran away. Suspicious, the police searched the remaining rider, Rana, and found the illicit drugs.
Rana was subsequently handed over to the Madhukhali Police Station along with the seized marijuana.
Inspector Sukdev Roy of Madhukhali Police Station confirmed the arrest, stating that the suspect is currently undergoing interrogation. "A narcotics case will be filed, and further legal proceedings are underway," he added.
