A human chain and road rally have been organized to protest the attacks, vandalism, looting and arson at the offices of the country's leading newspapers, Dainik Prothom Alo and Daily Star, and to demand immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of those involved.

The human chain and road rally, organized at the Press Club premises on Ishwardi Station Road at 11:15 am on Tuesday (December 23), was organized by the Ishwardi Press Club.

The human chain, organized by Ishwardi Press Club's Senior Joint Editor, Ohiduzzaman Tipu, was presided over by Ishwardi Press Club President Azizur Rahman Shaheen.

Among others present at the time were Ishwardi Press Club General Secretary SM Fazlur Rahman, BNP leader Mahbubur Rahman Palash, former president of Ishwardi Press Club and Weekly Junction Editor SM Raja, joint secretary of Ishwardi Press Club, editor of Weekly Ishwardi and Samakal correspondent Selim Sardar, vice-president of Ishwardi Press Club and senior journalist Khandaker Mahbubul Haque Dudu, vice-president of Ishwardi Press Club Professor Hasanuzzaman, BNP leader Ataur Rahman Pata, vice-president and popular councilor of Ishwardi Shilpa O Banik Samity Anwar Hossain Joni, senior vice-president of Ishwardi Sahitya Sanskriti Parishad Zahidul Alam Sonu, organizing secretary of Ishwardi Press Club Selim Ahmed, financial secretary of Ishwardi Pren Club Mohidul Inlam, etc.

At the time, the speakers called on the Home Minister to resign if he could not immediately arrest and punish the attackers.
