International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction Observed in Porsha

With the theme “Disaster Risk Reduction is Everyone’s Responsibility”, the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction was observed in Porsha Upazila of Naogaon on Monday through a rally and discussion meeting organized by the Upazila Administration (Disaster Management Division).

The rally began at 11 AM, led by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rakibul Islam, and paraded through key roads in the upazila. Following the rally, a brief discussion was held at the Upazila Parishad premises, where UNO Rakibul Islam, Livestock Officer Jahangir Alam, and Project Implementation Officer Mahmudul Haque Titu spoke.

Other officials present included Social Services Officer Shahidul Islam, Fire Service Team Leader Moazzem Hossain, and Assistant Programmer Zakaria. Students from various educational institutions also attended the event.

The program concluded with a demonstration by Fire Service personnel, showcasing emergency response techniques during earthquakes and fire incidents, aimed at raising public awareness and preparedness.
