During a massive divisional election rally at the Collectorate Eidgah ground in Rangpur on January 30, BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman urged the nation to participate in the scheduled February 12 referendum. He instructed voters to not only cast their ballots for the "sheaf of paddy" symbol but to also select the "Yes" option on the secondary referendum ballot.
Rahman addressed several key pillars of the party's current platform and highlighted the BNP’s 31-point reform proposal, originally introduced two and a half years ago. While acknowledging that the party has shared these proposals with the interim government's reform commissions, he noted that while there is common ground, the BNP remains transparent about areas of disagreement.
Shifting the focus from infrastructure to human needs, Rahman stated that the public's expectations have evolved since August 5. He emphasized that people prioritize job security, physical safety, and peace over "flyovers and buildings."
The Chairperson expressed firm confidence in the BNP’s ability to restore national stability, citing the party’s historical governance record as a blueprint for a "safe Bangladesh."
The rally saw a massive turnout from across the Rangpur division, serving as a significant show of strength for the party as it pushes for a return to democratic processes.
