Rival Parties Compromising Sovereignty Through ‘Slave Agreement’ with India: Dr. Taher

Dr. Syed Abdullah Md. Taher, Central Naib-e-Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, has alleged that rival political parties are attempting to seize power by signing a "slave agreement" with India.

Speaking as the chief guest at an election rally in Chupua on Thursday, Dr. Taher claimed that a recent report in India’s Anandabazar Patrika revealed a three-point secret deal between rival party heads and the Indian government.

Rehabilitation of Fascists: Reinstating individuals associated with the previous "fascist" regime. Bangladesh must seek India's permission before purchasing any weapons for self-defense. A commitment to crack down on Islamic political parties within Bangladesh.

Addressing questions regarding the treatment of minorities, Dr. Taher firmly denied allegations of land grabbing. "Not a single member of Jamaat has encroached on Hindu property," he stated. He further asserted that those whom India considers "friends" are actually the ones responsible for looting the wealth of the Hindu community.

Dr. Taher highlighted the strength of the 10-party alliance, which includes veteran freedom fighters, leaders of the July 2024 mass uprising, and major Islamic parties. He urged voters to support "honest and qualified candidates" using the Scale symbol and to participate in the upcoming referendum.

The rally was attended by senior Jamaat leaders and representatives from the National Citizen Party (NCP), AB Party, and other alliance members.
