Prime Minister Tarique Rahman chaired a high-level emergency meeting at the Secretariat on Wednesday to review Bangladesh’s energy security and outline a strategy to mitigate the ongoing fuel crisis.
The Prime Minister arrived at the Secretariat at 9:02 AM. After completing routine official duties and releasing commemorative postage stamps for Independence and National Day, he led the cabinet-level discussion on the country’s fuel outlook.
The meeting comes as the newly formed administration faces significant economic pressure. The escalating conflict between Iran, the US, and Israel has caused volatility in global energy markets, sparking concerns over fuel shortages and rising costs for essential goods.
Government officials and energy experts are currently assessing the long-term impact of these international tensions. Today’s session was focused on ensuring the stability of the power sector and securing the supply chain for daily necessities amidst global uncertainty.
