The Jhalakathi district administration hosted a special discussion on Thursday to raise social awareness and prevent rape.

Organized in the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room, the meeting centered on two key themes: "Stand by the rape victim, boycott the perpetrator" and "I am protesting, I am aware, I will not remain silent." Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Md. Momin Uddin presided over the event.

Key speakers emphasized the critical role of family and community awareness in preventing violence against women. They urged citizens to socially boycott perpetrators and ensure victims receive necessary legal and psychological support.

Attendees included Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Kawsar Hossain, Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Saiful Islam, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Segufta Menhaz, and District Information Officer Lelin Bala, alongside civil society representatives and local journalists.
