Activists from the political and cultural platform Inqilab Moncho temporarily vacated the Shahbagh intersection on Saturday morning to facilitate BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman’s visit to the grave of Sharif Osman bin Hadi. The group, which has been protesting since Friday, relocated their position to the front of Aziz Super Market.
Tarique Rahman departed for the Dhaka University campus around 10:45 AM on Saturday. His objective is to pay respects and offer prayers at the grave of Sharif Osman bin Hadi, the slain convenor of Inqilab Moncho.
To ensure the visit proceeded smoothly, the activists moved from their primary sit-in point at the Shahbagh intersection to a nearby location outside Aziz Super Market.
In a social media announcement, the platform clarified that the relocation is temporary. They plan to resume their protest at the newly dubbed "Shaheed Hadi Chattar" in Shahbagh starting at noon.
Inqilab Moncho has been occupying the area since Friday, primarily demanding immediate justice for the killing of Hadi. The group has called on the general public to join their gathering later in the day to strengthen their movement.
