The national budget for the upcoming fiscal year has been designed to secure the well-being of every citizen and fulfill the nation's long-term goals, Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury said on Thursday.
Speaking to journalists this morning ahead of the formal budget presentation at the Jatiya Sangsad (National Parliament), the Finance Minister explained that every aspect of the economic plan prioritizes national prosperity and raises the living standards of ordinary people.
"The context of this year’s budget is entirely different from past years," the Finance Minister stated. "After a long period, a national budget is being presented by a popularly elected government. Consequently, public expectations are exceptionally high, and we have drafted this plan with the people's aspirations and future needs at the forefront."
Addressing current economic challenges, the Minister noted that the budget was framed strictly within the state's financial capacity. The primary strategy focuses first on stabilizing a fragile economy, followed by building a path toward long-term prosperity.
He expressed optimism that the expansive budget will be successfully implemented by maximizing limited state resources and driving active public participation.
The Minister concluded that the defining feature of this year's budget is its inclusivity, explicitly aiming to bring marginalized and disadvantaged communities directly into the mainstream economy.
